Cultural Rethinking - Youth

Back in the Days, the youth used to respect their elders, take guidance from them and live their life according to their will. But its not the same anymore. these days the youth likes to live their life on their term. All they care is about themselves. This huge change has been brought up by cultural values. since quite a long time now. And to support it there are many youth based shows which follow these trends. For eg: Splitsvilla.

Splitsvilla, where twenty young bachelorettes will compete against one another for two men. Women are putting on make-up and sexy outfits to attract two men, while the two guys "have fun.",After every round, they will have the opportunity to approach the women and say, "We are dumping you." The girls, who have wholeheartedly invested their souls into impressing these men, will return home in tears. This cannot be a show. MTV is just spoiling the moral values of our young generation.

Though at present western culture affects our Indian youth adversely,Western culture had broken through the shackles of conservatism that was prevalent in the Indian society and still exists even today.Western culture has also brought to us benefits of technological and industrial advancement. But there are many adverse effects on the youth due to influence of western culture. youth has started ignoring the wonderful Indian culture. they don't believe in marriages that is specially in arrange marriages. they don't like attending weddings and wishing good-luck to people for their further life time. they don't want to meet new people and grow more relationships. in fact they don't even want to talk to their own family members. they just want friends, food and parties. \

As the current tends show our youth are getting Very much affected by it. Signs of this are rampant more divorces, less respect towards ones religious and traditional practices, increase in oldage homes, increase in abortions the list goes on.It would be interesting to note that the current trend is that the youth are getting married at lower and lower ages due to western culture's influence. The current direction in which they are heading is full of dangers and may lead to complete destruction of Indian morals and values which must be preserved at any cost.
